UPPER QUADRANT CALGARY

The upper quadrant course focuses on advanced skill development and builds on the skills learned in the lower quadrant as well as adding the muscles of the upper quadrant. The upper quadrant muscles are often more technical and the correct identification of the anatomy and nearby structures (arteries veins nerves organs) is more critical.

Theoretical components include: clean needle technique, safety precautions, contraindications and consent, theories and science behind dry needling, the effects on the muscle, neural and fascial systems.

Practical components includes:  muscle groupings including posterior shoulder, parascapular, cervico-thoracic junction and upper thoracic, upper arm, anterior chest and shoulder girdle, upper cervical spine, TMJ and anterior neck, arm, and hand.

Course Costs $1500 ( includes manual, lunches, coffee, water and snacks)

Lower Quadrant Calgary

This course provides instruction over 3 days, combining formal lectures with hands-on lab sessions. This course focuses on developing the skills and confidence required to incorporate dry needling into your patient treatment programs.  The content is divided into 2 modules the first being a lower quadrant (basic) and the second being upper quadrant (advanced).  By dividing into two modules to allow students to learn the basic dry needling skills in the lower quadrant course and then advance  skills in the more technical upper quadrant.

LEARNING TOPICS:    

Theory: Clean needle technique, Theories behind needling, Effects on the muscles, neural and fascial system  

Muscle Groupings: Posterior Hip, Quadriceps, Hamstring & adductors, Lower leg, Foot, Advanced hip, Lumbar Spine
